CONGRATULATIONS TO MINDBODY WELLNESS TRAINING LTD, a new centre headed by senior DCT Rosemary Bennett that has passed the approval process for BWYQ Centre Recognition. Rosemary and her team are keen to deliver all eight of the regulated qualifications BWYQ has on offer. They are committed to piloting the four new Level 3 qualifications that have been approved as meeting the Occupational Standards by IfATE and the DfE for publicly funded places.

The Department for Education (DfE) has approved all of BWYQ’s new Level 3 Technical Occupational Qualifications for Level 3 Legal Entitlement funding, additionally the Teaching Yoga certificate is eligible for Advanced Learner Loans. More information is available on the Ofqual Register ‘Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)’ — available for learners starting 1 August 2025. Also, see our ‘Level 3 Qualifications‘ page.

The last session of the Yoga for Generalised Anxiety Disorder (YOGAD) pilot research study funded by the National Lottery Community Fund ended today and now the BWYQ Research Team are analysing the results. See Research page for more information. BWYQ plans to launch a new qualification in Teaching Yoga for Generalised Anxeity Disorder in 2025.

8 March 2024 - NEWS FROM IfATE AND OFQUAL
After 10 months of meetings, submissions, more meetings, re-drafts of multiple documents for each qualification, BWYQ finally received APPROVAL for the four new Level 3 qualifications that meet the new Occupational standards for Teaching Yoga and for Adapting and Developing exercise for specialist target groups: Antenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga and Mindbody Exercises for Older Adults (independently active older adults).
A big thank you to BWYQ coordinator Jenny Howsam for her diligent work in getting these qualifications approved by both IfATE and Ofqual that are now on the Ofqual Register, the “Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)” — available for learners starting on 1 August 2025.
